I think if a Kobe, Wade, Lebron leave to Europe. The NBA would be ruined. And the NBA will eventually be forced to expand to Europe and other places around the world. Which will cause a lot of problems. Because of money. And time differences (plane rides for players) (games viewing times). And if the NBA combines with the Euroleauge. What would happen to the crappy American players on the team trying to make the NBA? Would they immediately become NBA players. The NBA should stop expanding since we have teams like the clippers, bobcats, hawks, crappy teams that for several years never make the playoffs. Would there be like a 100 game schedule thats includes several NBA teams?

Josh Childress leaving Atlanta is going to make the Hawks worse, but it's not going to make the league worse. But if Kobe takes $50 mil to Milan in '09 and LeBron takes $50 mil to Athens in '10, that would be a different story. Ultimately I don't think those guys are going to do it, though Kobe would seem more likely in my opinion because he grew up in Italy and will be 31 by the time next year starts, whereas LeBron would only be in his mid-20s.

I don't think the movement of NBA players at this point will cause European club members to move to the States. Most of the guys you mentioned are Europeans so going to Europe is really just going back. Even expansion to thirty teams in the NBA can't have room for multiple players coming from the dozens and dozens of teams that exist on different levels in Europe.
